I feel we were scammed . We were talked into x rays costing $160.00 when all Zaza had was ant bites on her foot. Any honest vet would have treated the foot which was red and swollen . We had advised the vet that Zaza had hip displasia....there was no need for X rays .

Both Greg and I were so impressed with Crawford as we walked in and greeted by the receptionist. The tech guy was superb...so low-keyed with Sammi. I felt that the vet had excellent rapport with Sammi and her owners in explaining what Sammi need for her health care. Thank you for such great service...it was like going to our "old" vet, Dr. Bendixion.

Had a long wait to see the vet after my appointment time because of some extra tests needed for the pet in front of me, but Vicky the receptionist was very friendly and chatty to help pass the time. Dr. Hoyer and the vet aid were very nice and they gave me a coupon when I checked out which reduced my bill to a third of what it would have been otherwise. You can tell that the staff really cares about pets, and their owners. Would recommend Crawford to anyone who needs a new vet!

I had scheduled a well care appointment for our almost 17yr old cat. That morning I called to let them know that the appointment had changed because there were major concerns that had come up in the past few days and I was told not to worry about anything just bring him in as scheduled. I had this appointment with a Veterinarian I had not heard of and had some concerns seeing her instead of his regular Dr. who was unavailable that day. It didn't take long to realize that we were in good hands. Dr Tomcheck was kind, gentle, thorough, knowledgeable, etc. She spent alot of time with us. We were given some bad news and many options. We took our little one home that day with hope but knowing the reality of things. Over night and into the morning things just went downhill from there. I made several calls to the office with questions that day and all were answered right away. The last call was an SOS call. We were told to bring him right away. We knew that this was probably the end for him. Dr Tomcheck was soft and kind with her words. She kept things real and honest though. That mix of professionalism and compassion got us through it all. Everyone did their best for us in our situation. We have always received great care at Crawford but this time went above and beyond. If I can sit here and write this positive feed back the day after losing our precious Scooter then you know that the care we received was worth a five star rating. Mostly due to Dr Tomcheck and also I want to aknowledge Vickie (I think she said her name is) the receptionist. She couldn't have been sweeter and more helpful either.

Our appt was schedule at 6:30pm. We were not seen until almost 7:30pm.The close at 8pm and we were still there. I have been going there for over 8 years and have never had to wait that long. The "head" receptionist did not even advise anyone they were running behind.I had to go ask at 7:10 if we we next as more people had entered. We just sat there with my 9.5 lb scared dog for over an hour waiting. I find this really disappointing. We live in Bay View so it is a 20 min drive to get to this location. I feel I would be better if I found a vet that was closer and that at least had the common courtesy to tell us they were an hour behind.

Crawford Animal Hospital replied:

Thank you for your review. Some evenings in the clinic can get quite busy as it is a convenient time for many to come in (emergencies, walk ins, etc). That said, I understand your frustration and agree waiting with little communication is something we want to correct. It will be a top priority in our upcoming staff meeting. I appreciate you taking the time to bring it to our attention. -Derek Williamson, DVM

Brought my pet in for digestive issues. Xrays taken and surgery were recommend. Declined surgery and took pet home. No alternatives were suggested. Talked to a friend who was a vet tech and was able to get digestive medicine from a local pet store and administered it to my pet. My pets response was immediate over two days and is now back in full health and active and eating normally. Ended up paying $300 to the vet and spending 30 dollars at a pet store saved spending 2 to 3 thousand dollars for a surgery that wasn't necessary.

Crawford Animal Hospital replied:

We're thrilled to hear about the improvement with your cat! Unfortunately, your experience is not the norm. On presentation, your cat was very lethargic and vomiting quite a bit. The abdominal radiographs revealed a suspected linear foreign body (string, thread, etc) for which surgery is the treatment of choice. If a linear foreign body is present, waiting on surgery can have very life threatening consequences. It is possible the foreign body could dislodge and pass through uneventfully but surgery is the best treatment option for a good and predictable outcome. After surgery was declined, we did discuss symptomatic treatment which included us giving medications and fluids. We are all happy for your very fortunate outcome! Please don't hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns. -Derek Williamson, DVM
