Not satisfied. Welcome new customer.” Transmission replaced $2600 only 9000 miles ago. Brought in for “slipping.” Owner call explain not fully clear to SENIOR CITIZEN. Asked why no written quote as web site indicates. Said he’d send one. Repair bill indicates “shift cable not properly lined up “....could this have been from earlier job? P. S of Bill included “Auto Trans Maintenance Srvc.” Not requested (same as 9000 mi ago) PADDING. “Jury is out “ with me and Croce. CAUTION SENIORS. ? “Demand force policies”/ NO EXPLANATION
Ed, We are sorry you feel this way. We understand auto repair can be overwhelming. You were welcomed as a new customer from our marketing system when a new email is added. The vehicle was brought in to check shifting. There are many wearable external parts that can effect the transmission. In this case it was the shifter cable that is moved everytime the vehicle is put into gear. Overtime this part is known to wear and become out of place. We would be happy to explain where that is located in relation to your transmission. When the transmission was rebuilt 4 years ago there would have been shifting concerns right away if cable wasn't in properly. Please contact us directly and we would be happy to further explain. Also stated on your invoice was the "customer decline written estimate". We have many ways of sending a written estimates. Your authorization for both the repair and transmission service with the estimate is stated clearly on invoice. Transmission fluid should be changed especially after 1 year of being rebuilt . It is great preventive maintenance that keeps your vehicle lasting for years. As our records indicate this hasn't been done. My wife and I have been going to Croce's to have our cars maintained for over thirteen years. He was originally recommended to us by our neighbor who managed parts and service for a local car dealership. Because of Tony and his team, our cars always run smoothly. When we have needed something done to the cars, Tony shows us and explains exactly what the issue is, whether it be brake pads needing replacement, a leaking radiator or anything else and the cost. Croce's is a gem in Norwalk that my wife and I highly recommend.
