I give Dr. Barry my absolute highest recommendation. Last year, when my five year old daughter was found by another dentist to have some fairly extensive tooth decay, I began to research. We visited several pediatric dentists. The discomfort and suffering was going to be intense, each said, or she would need to be sedated in a hospital setting--neither of which I wanted for her. Then we visited Dr. Barry. She suggested something called SDF--I urge you to Google it, if you have a child with tooth decay! I asked a wide assortment of questions of Dr. Barry on the topic, and she took the time to respond with detailed, research-based answers, even emailing me back an explanation and images to explain the most recent research on a nuanced question I had on the actual technique itself. Though money was the least of our concerns, and health our highest, it happens to be that SDF was not only completely non-invasive, and pain free, but it also costs a tiny fraction of what the other pediatric dentists recommended. I can't overemphasize that we did not choose SDF because of the low cost, but rather because the research, of which Dr. Barry is clearly up to date on, bears out as the best option. Dr. Barry very clearly cares deeply for her patients, and her lighthearted bedside manner with my daughter put her at complete ease. My daughter looks forward to seeing Dr. Barry, and is very comfortable in her chair.
Thank you so much for your recommendation - Dr. Maggie strives to provide the most up-to-date, evidence-based, compassionate dentistry she can so that children have a positive attitude towards dentistry to seek preventive care for their lifetime! :)
