We have been coming to Derick Dermatology pretty much since the Elgin office opened, and have generally been very pleased with the care. Lately, however, we have been frustrated with three things. One, our appointments (my kids are on accutane) are taking up to an hour for very simple monthly checks; the staff is behind even when we are the first appointment of the day. Two, for most of the blood draws the kids have had in the past year and a half, the technicians have been really no good - they have hurt the kids drawing blood and have had a hard time getting blood and finding veins...which is not normally a problem for my kids. Third, the communication abut the iPledge system has been poor, and we have wound up missing the windows for filling prescriptions. In general, I believe that while this is a very good office, the staff needs to focus more on efficiency, communication, and professionalism, rather than being nice and chatty.
