I only want to ask a simple question -- Why does it take your office 1 to 2 weeks to get a culture back when it only takes 3 days max. for everyone else to do the same. ????
The Center for Dermatology Care - Thousand Oaks replied:
There can be many reasons that it could take longer. Bacterial cultures usually take 3-4 days, but may take longer if the culture is positive and the organism needs to be identified or if sensitivities to antibiotics need to be determined. Other cultures may take longer: fungal cultures and aytpical mycobacterial cultures may take one month or longer.
Best option is to discuss your particular situation by telephone with your doctor.

The Center has given me many years of care. I have always found expert care, in a very caring and personal manner.
Dr. Kaufman and team are focused on positive outcomes. I like their straight-forward and direct communication. His team is compassionate and they are all there for you to have what you need. The front desk is awesome too.
Dr. Burton is a very experienced and skilled dentist and his dental office is well organized and staffed by friendly people.
The hygienist Chelsea was very nice and pleasant. She wore a quality pair of magnification loupes when performing dental cleaning of my teeth last week. That practice enables more thorough and focused viewing of the teeth and examination of stains and plaques. It also helps maintaining a better ergonomic posture of the hygienist in reducing head and neck stress while doing teeth cleaning. She identified areas for improvement and offered suggestions on good dental hygiene practice.
