When I went the first time the doctor checked my dog for a lump on his back leg. I was given a written estimate to remove the lump and cut his nails for less then $100. When I called several weeks later to go over the procedure and make an appointment I was told the doctor would return the call to address my concerns.
The tech called back explaining everything involved giving me a cost range of $400-$600. We are happy with the vet we used to remove the lump and cut his nails for less then $100.
I suggest that the Dothan Animal Hospital check records before returning calls.
Steven,
Thank you for taking the time to send us your comments. It will help us do a better job in providing better customer service!
I looked back at Colins record and I see that you came in September 2015. I did an exam and determined the most likely diagnosis was a cyst. We also discussed a nail trim because of the length of his nails. We did talk at that time about using some sedation to make Colin more comfortable as he has had trouble with nail trims at other veterinary hospitals. That was in September.
In December you called to discuss an estimate for the cyst removal and nail trim. An estimate was gotten up by one of my technicians which included general anesthesia, cyst removal, antibiotics and pain medications injections, surgical toe nail trim and cautery, antibiotics and pain medicine to go home, and pathology for the growth if needed. We always try to give a high estimate in case any extra medications are needed to make them more comfortable.
I think the original estimate we talked about in September was for a sedative/injectable anesthesia and a nail trim only.
I am sorry for the confusion.
Thank you again for taking the time to post a review!
