1974: The business was incorporated in December of 1974 as Downtown Shell Inc. by Tom Kingston and Jerry Kasel. Jerry had been working for Tom since 1965.
1983: Jerry purchased the remaining interest in the company from Tom Kingston.
1985: August of 1985 name was officially changed to Downtown Tire & Auto Inc.
1986: In June of 1986 Greg, Jerry's son, came to work full time in the business after graduating from Dakota County Technical College
1998: On January 1, 1998 Greg purchased the business from his father and has been running it ever since.
