I found the experience with Dr. Lui to be very personal and caring. Jeannette, Briana and Dr Lui are very personable and professional in their approach and handling of patients. My only concern is that after my procedure ( full extraction) I was wheeled out of the clinic and down to the street to meet my husband with blood running from my mouth and onto my clothes. My husband was not impressed with this and somewhat concerned that I would be sent out so quickly after the work.The procedure itself, however, was taken care of painlessly (concious sedation) and without incident.

I would definitely recommend Dr. Lui and his staff without hesitation.

I am very sorry that your husband felt that way. He was not with you during your consultations and therefore he cannot fully understand what to expect.

You were NOT sent out quickly. We never let a sedated client leave the clinic until the effects of the sedation have worn off, the blood pressure is checked & bleeding is controlled. It is our policy to wait one hour or longer as needed, before releasing a patient from recovery. Most sedated clients are sufficiently alert and even anxious to depart after their surgery.

When we remove all the upper and lower teeth we cannot place gauze everywhere as we do with as a single extracted tooth. As you are frozen and still relaxed from the sedation there is no way for you to feel and/or apply pressure with the gauze ? it is simply impossible for one to maintain a solid bite. The gauze itself will likely tear the clots and therefore it is protocol to just count on the stitches. Bleeding is normal and necessary in healing after extractions; keeping all this in mind, with 27 teeth removed, there is bound to be some bleeding. I can only say that once a patient starts moving and especially talking, the blood clots are disturbed and start to ooze again. It is likely that in the minutes during your transfer to your car, some of the new blood ended up on your clothes.

We always suggest that surgery patients wear comfortable and easy to wash clothing (as if you were going to a hospital). I am sincerely sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. As far as the clinical procedure, outcome and the postoperative protocol, it went as smoothly and soundly as can be expected. In the future we will try to give more paper towels and perhaps a disposable bib to protect clothing. Thank you for your comments!
