About
Doctor Darek Huggett is an Optometric Physician and Family Optometrist from Hillsboro Oregon. He attended Western University and Pacific University prior to his early acceptance to the competitive Pacific University College of Optometry. As Class President Dr. Huggett was heavily involved in social and charitable organizations contributing to those in need, a practice which continues to this day as it has over the past 21 years in Salem.
Dr. Huggett received the prestigious Helen Keller Award twice from the local Lions Club chapters for his contributions to those families in our community. He has also been recognized by the Elks Club. In addition Dr. Huggett sponsors yearly "Vision Days," a program providing eye care and glasses to children in need from the Salem/Keizer School Districts. Dr. Huggett is a committed scholar for the benefit of his patients, and is also involved in lectures on medical eye procedures. The father of three girls, his family enjoys outdoor activities such as camping and horseback riding, fishing, biking and being involved with many great friends.
Through life's experiences, Dr. Huggett is an understanding and sympathetic physician, specializing in primary optometry and contact lenses. With his diagnosis he treats many medical eye diseases and co-manages cataract and refractive surgeries. He is trusted by many who find their needed exams are also an uplifting experience.

He took the time to explain to me about how the eye functions and how that applies to my vision. He did a complete exam including dilation and I never felt like he was rushing through it. Very thorough, very detailed. I will definitely return here for my yearly exams.
