First let me say I love this office. However this last cleaning visit was unlike any I have ever had before. It was painful and when I left my gums were throbbing and sore. The hygienist probed too hard and deep into my gums when measuring I really don't think the numbers were completely accurate. She was very nice just very harsh. Ouch:( Only this visit a 1 star.

Thank you for your feedback, and I apologize for your discomfort. The goal is to check the health of your gums and when there is inflammation present it can be very uncomfortable. I have discussed this with the hygienist to help her be more aware in the future. It is never our intention to provide an unpleasant visit. She usually gets wonderful reviews as many have stated "my teeth feel great and I have never had a cleaning like that before". Thank You again for bringing it to our attention

I have always had a good experience going to Dr. Benton's appointments. I am just concerned with my last visit when I was checking out and all of the sudden it was. Fought to my attention that I had to pay a fee since there was a special medicine that was used during my visit. I was not aware of this and the whole time thinking my appointment was my 6 months cleaning. In the past, if there was anything outside the coverage of my dental plan, i was advised first and actually asked whether I would want to go the route of paying extra from what is covered.
The response from the reception area was that they were going to try to submit to my dental insurance to see if they would cover it. My opinion is that the patient should have been made aware of the extra cost and be given the chance to decide.

I apologize for the miscommunication. We were under the impression that you were informed when the appointment was made (as there was a note to that fact). We will make sure of that in the future.

I really appreciate that Dr Benton took the time out to address all my concerns herself. She never one time directed me to her front staff. She was very patience and knowledgeable with providing me with the information that I needed. She listen with understanding, replies with love and compassion.
She gets an A++ in my book...
