I had an extraction and bone graft with laughing gas and another pain killer (movacaine?). There was a tiny flash of pain at one point - due to injection. Otherwise I felt nothing. I was extremely tense throughout the procedure but aware of how intensely the doctor and hygienist were working to keep me pain free. Both offered reassurance from time to time. I had no pain following the procedure but I know it will take time to get used to my redesigned mouth! Another periodontist had told me I needed an implant but I do not.

Doctor Christopher is fabulous, very caring, and skillful. Her front office and nursing staff are excellent. All options of treatment and insurance is carefully explained. Excellent post op guidance is given and explained. I have had several periodontal treatments here, and have also referred grateful friends to this practice.

Roget's Thesaurus has made a terrible oversight. If you look up the word EXCEPTIONAL, it doesn’t list Dr. Mehrdad Favagehi as a synonym.

Normally when you're headed to an oral surgeon you can be apprehensive, nervous, and a little fearful. All typical reactions. That’s true of an appointment with an ordinary oral surgeon. But not if you're the patient of the EXCEPTIONAL Dr. Favagehi.

Entering his office, you are immediately impressed with the smiles, greetings, and such organizational skills of his EXCEPTIONAL support staff. Just asking about insurance takes part of your fear and worry away as if you’ve known them forever.

When your name is called you are still a little apprehensive, but it’s soothing to hear a warm and friendly voice getting you settled into the chair, putting that drool bib around your neck, offering a pillow, asking if you’d like a blanket over your legs, or would you like to watch tv. Anything to make you EXCEPTIONALLY comfortable. For his medical professionals to be so engaging and kind, that kind of commitment to the patients starts at the top with an EXCEPTIONAL boss.

As Dr. Favagehi comes in and ask how you’re doing, all your fears, worry, concern, are melted away. His voice is so reassuring and genuinely caring. As an EXCEPTIONAL Doctor with such chairside gentleness, you almost wish he needed to do something else so you could stay longer.

There are lots of oral surgeons and dentists in the telephone book or on the Internet. But those of us who are fortunate enough to be patients of Dr. Mehrdad Favagehi know what a rare and EXCEPTIONAL blessing we all share.
