About

The office of Drs. Moser & Hudgins is a state-of-the-art optometry practice located in Raleigh, North Carolina. We offer comprehensive eye examinations, contact lenses, laser surgery consultations and a complete line of designer eyewear. Our goal is to provide patients with the best possible care by using only the latest technology to diagnose eyesight conditions and provide vision correction.

The practice was founded in 1909 by Dr. Fred B. Day, who was the very first licensed optometrist in the state of North Carolina. The practice remained a Day family business until 1998, when Dr. Frank B. Day retired. Present owners Dr. P. Wayne Moser and Dr. Donathan G. Hudgins continue the legacy that began over 100 years ago with Dr. Day's office.

I have been a patient of Dr. Hudgins since 1996 and can't imagine going to anyone else. He takes his time to answer all questions, even producing a model of the eye and explaining how each part relates to another. He wants his patients to understand why he's doing each test and then explains what the results are while you are sitting in his office. I have total confidence in Dr. Hudgins knowledge as a doctor and highly recommend him if you're looking for a quality optometrist.

After a year of more dental work than I'd care to admit, I still love this office. Dr. Staehling does amazing work and even cleaned up some less than perfect fillings from a previous office. He listens and addresses my concerns regarding my dental care with the utmost professionalism. My treatment plan was communicated effectively and I knew exactly what to expect each step of the way. My crowns look and feel amazing! The hygienist is friendly and always remembers my name (although I can't remember hers, sorry!!) and things we talked about 6 months prior. She is very gentle and I actually enjoy my cleaning. Lynn, as always, welcomes me with a warm smile and greeting every time I walk in, which happens to have been frequently in the past year. Thank you Dr. Staehling and team not only for my amazing smile, but exceeding all my expectations for a dental office!
