I just finished my first visit to Elk Creek Animal Hospital. Everyone there was very welcoming and cordial. They also spent more than enough time answering questions about my new dog. I would definitely recommend them for your veterinary needs!
Thank you for taking the time to tell us how we are doing. We appreciate your input and we are thrilled to have you as part of our Elk Creek Animal Hospital Family.

The staff was extremely knowledgeable and took the time to answer all of my questions regarding the surgery and the boarding process. They were patient and kind when I called to check up on Miles throughout the week. They were very accommodating to our schedule. It was a great experience for for us!
Our experience was BEYOND exceptional! EVERYONE we were in contact with made us feel like family! Their entire team is fantastic and so gentle!! I was adopting/rescuing a puppy in IA and her owner met me at the clinic. I live out of state, and the pup had a deep bite wound and infested with ticks and fleas. I sent an extensive email to the clinic the night before regarding her condition. Dr. Bessmer already read it and knew the situation. I arrived, and my heart has never been so happy to see how genuine and caring everybody was! Dr. Bessmer was thorough and provided me with excellent details of what he and his staff would be doing for Reyna. They were even able to scrub her body up after her much needed stitches in her leg. They went ABOVE AND BEYOND!
If I lived closer to Iowa/Sioux City OR surrounding suburbs, I would make him our primary Veterinarian for life!!
Less than 24 hours later she is completely thriving, healthy and happy!!
I can't thank their staff enough for what they did for my new puppy! Bless you guys!
Thank you Dr. Bessmer for everything you did and thank you for having such an outstanding staff!
Dr. Bessmer is always very helpful, informative, and caring while treating my pets. The veterinary staff is kind and supportive. Thank you, Elk Creek staff, for treating my fur babies as though they were your own!
I've had two recent appointments that I'll review. The first review is for my little beagle who was older and having significant problems. The appointment went well, but we found she had a chronic issue that was not going to get better but might be able to be managed. Unfortunately she passed away on the way home from her appointment. The staff was very caring and kind when I brought her back so she could be cremated and also made a clay print of her little paws. I guess I wished the doctor would have touched base with me since we hadn't even made it home from our apt before she passed, but he was very kind and helpful during her appointment and I know they were busy and had squeezed her in, so am giving that a pass.
The other appointment was getting my male dog neutered. I had a lot of concerns as he seems to be sensitive to everything, but felt Aaron listened to my concerns and reassured me it would go well. And it did go great. They called when he was out of surgery to let me know he was fine and I saw on his bill they gave him a warming blanket post-op. Little things like that make a difference to me.
I've gone to a number of vet clinics trying to find one nearby that I liked and felt was invested in both my animals wellbeing and their interactions with me. Aaron seems genuinely concerned for my pets and he is very personable. His staff is the cherry on top, they are so friendly and caring.
