1. I waited 45 minutes beyond my scheduled 8:30a appointment to be seen by PA. 2. I gave PA a detailed list of skin issue history so she could better evaluate. My words were quickly dismissed, and I was recommended to receive a "cosmetic" service rather than addressing prevention of future problems with the skin issue. 3. I was told that I'd have to get a topical med thru foothill pharmacy, because medicine was too expensive at my local pharmacy. And I was told foothill pharmacy would contact me the next day. It's 4 days post-appointment, I've not received contact from foothill pharmacy. 4. I checked medicine price with my local pharmacist and the $ amount estimated by Epiphany is NOT correct. I can get the med at my local pharmacy for 60% less than what was quoted at office 5. I called the office on same day of appointment and left a message to make PA aware of the discrepancy in med cost and to let her know that I could get med locally. I've received no reply! 6. However, as I wait to receive contact from foothill pharmacy and a return phone call from the PA, I received a bill from Epiphany less than 24 hours after appointment - and it's exorbitant! I’m self-pay (which I was told is 50% of insurance billed amount.) The ONLY procedure performed was freezing of ONE wart. Bill is $160 in addition to the $100 I paid, on day of appointment, for office visit. So, $260 for (a) Freezing ONE wart. (b) An eager recommendation of an expensive cosmetic treatment, which would need to be repeated every 1-3 years. I will be disputing this bill. We've used this office for family dermatology needs for 30+ years (back when I could actually see Dr. McCune.) Service has consistently declined while prices have dramatically increased. I do not recommend this office anymore. We will find another dermatologist.
