They had the battery that I needed; was higher than I realized, than I wanted to pay.
Art, the man behind the counter was fast paced, talking, explaining the prices to replace the flat tire that blew out on the freeway. It has been almost a year since I purchased from Evans. The last time, at Evans on Scripps Poway Parkway, November of 2020, there wasn't so many fees attached to the purchase of a tire. Around that time last year, or before, a tire was replaced at the Scripps Poway location, the Manger pro-rated the one tire I needed to replace, less the mileage from when I first had it mounted. I felt Art was too fast paced in explaining my options; he was turning to talk to me, than answered a phone call, then another customer. Plus, it was a worker there who was listening to our conversation and joked after he gave the price, making a funny comment. I thought that was unprofessional, inappropriate. Bottom line, he was trying to sell me tires with a "T" rating; I wanted to stay with "V" rating I already had. I told him to replace the flat tire with the temporary spare that came with my Camry. While waiting for them to finish I called Evans on Mission Gorge Road, closer to where I live; they transferred me to your man in Escondido, where I ordered two tires with the "95V" rating, to get them mounted on Monday, October 25th. He, Art, said you no longer carry Yokohama tires, yet there were signs in the Convoy Street location displaying Yokokamas. I ordered two Kumho's over the phone, to have them replaced at Mission Gorge. Art told me that Yokohama went from being Japanese company, to Chinese. He said Kumho was Japanese, though when checking on-line they started in South Korea. Does he know the product, or more interested in making the sale?
Art was trying to sell me tires that were in stock, with the T rating, without trying to working with me, giving me the option to order them. His demeanor throughout the process was trying to rush me, creating too much urgency. After ordering the tires from your man in Escondido, that price matched with what Art quoted me, though though the way Art presented it, (without first checking other the quote), it made me feel he was trying to jack of the price to increase his profit margin. I felt rushed and had no trust in Art. I wouldn't go back to the Convoy Street location.
