I felt the doctor was knowledgible, but it felt like a sales pitch the entire time. I called looking for a local eye doctor to help with a complex multifocal prescription, and near the end of the visit I was told they were closing that office and moving to the Westbrook office. The reason I chose that office was because it was close to my home. The person booking the appointment for a new client should have been upfront about the office closing.
The exam was 3X the price of any other eye exam I have ever had, and the contact fitting also was 3 to 4 times the price of any other eye doctor I have ever been to in past 30 years. The digital bifocal lenses he recommended plus average priced frames cost $570( I did not buy them), and I am affraid to find out the cost of the progressive multifocal contact lenses, that I was given a trial pair to test out. The total exam cost came to over $500 and I haven't even got any contacts or glasses yet. I am disappointed that the service is all about sales and not about helping people with their sight. I will be sure to get my written RX, so I can price shop before agreeing to any more surprises when I look at the total bill.
