The Eye And Laser Center of Fort Collins replied:

Unfortunately there are things that the insurance company requires that we complete at each exam in order for them to pay for your visit, sometimes it seems like it is repetitive.

We do apologize that we must schedule appointments in our optical department right now. That is due to the pandemic and not being able to have more than one person in the glasses department at a time.

Thank you for your feedback, and if you have any questions please let us know. Take care!

The Eye And Laser Center of Fort Collins replied:

"We are sorry that you feel this way... as you posted anonymously we are unable to fully address your concerns. Our staff consists of certified Ophthalmic Assistants, Certified Ophthalmic Technicians, and Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technicians, as well as those who are training for certification. We always recommended that staff consult with more experienced staff and the physician when they are are unsure of an answer. Our exam rooms are small, but we do require that all patients and their support people are within the rooms at all times for Federal HIPAA regulations on patient privacy for those who are being seen in the next room. All of our patients are seen with a technician in one room, have their glasses preion checked in another room, dilate in our waiting area, and then are seen by the doctor in his exam rooms. This allows us to see more patients and customize their care based on what part of the office they are in. Our doctor is an ophthalmologist, eye surgeon, not an optometrist. If your daughter was here for a routine wellness exam and something out of the ordinary was found, a medical follow up may have been scheduled to evaluate it further. That is standard practice, and is the only way to evaluate a situation fully as routine vision insurance does not cover medical diagnoses to be evaluated. We hope to see you soon, take care and stay well! We do hope that you contact us so we can address your concerns on an individual basis."
