Excellent service! My optometrist gave me the wrong script. When I took the glasses in to be checked at Upper Montclair Eye Care and Wear they caught the mistake. I returned to my optometrist and they confirmed the error and gave me a corrected script. However, they refused to pay for the new lenses. Even tho it was not their mistake Upper Montclair Eye Care did not charge me for the new lenses. I am changing optometrist to them!

I was billed additionally on medical insurance for mentioning dry eyes when wearing contacts. They have you sign a insurance form that clears them to bill your medical and in this case my mentioning of dry eye while wearing contacts led them to do so. My medical/vision insurance was billed a combined $600+ for services provided that were equivalent to a routine eye exam. This led to out of pocket costs for me since I had not met my deductible. The office is quick to reference this insurance form leading me to believe that this is a common occurrence. The management also tried to make it seem like these out of pocket charges were beneficial to me because they'd go towards my deductible but that would only be the case if I intended to have medical costs in excess of my deductible for the calendar year. Overall a disappointment to have trusted a place for a routine eye exam that was listed by my eye insurance provider.

This shop is THE BEST. The staff are friendly, they sell great looking contemporary frames and do a perfect job getting the prescription correct. I highly recommend them.

Easy to get an appointment, efficient eye exams, nice staff. Frames are a little expensive but that's also the sometimes the cost of supporting a local business.
