It is a good thing you were closed this morning, Wednesday the 8th. I was going to stop in and talk to you about...well.....about my eye exam on Monday.
When I first stopped by EyeCare Dimensions, I was quoted a cost / price of $80.00 for an eye exam. When I received the bill after my eye exam...and with no one asking me anything about why I was there...beyond an eye exam, I received a bill for $96.00 ($16.00 higher than what I was quoted) and then on top of that, another $56.00 charge for some kind of photography. "Fundus" is what the bill says but I can imagine what it is supposed to read.
Never did anyone say one word about the "photography" being an ADDITIONAL charge. Had I been asked, I would have refused this "photography".
So... my "review" of what transpired on Monday morning for two and one half hours, was not at all what I expected and obviously not what I wanted. It is poor form to do things without clearing the charges with the patient. I don't think Medicare and my insurance should be put to the additional expense for a procedure I did not request.
If perchance there are any further costs involved, I believe that your taking the liberty to do something that I, the patient did not request, makes only yourself liable. So if Medicare and my supplemental insurance do not pay your "presumed" charges, I am not going to pay anything further.
This is not the way I do business. If it was simply an oversight on your part...then I suggest paying more attention to detail in the future
