Doctor Yeh and Jim are great. I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing their medical and technical expertise during my office visit. HOWEVER, the phone and front staff is atrocious. I have never had such bad experience with people who are supposed to be customer centric (being in the frontlines) and having them on two occasion be argumentative and lacking any hospitality. For example, when I called to make an appointment in 2018, I reminded them that when I last booked an appointment in 2017 they cancelled on me because they said I didn’t have any benefits. Interesting, since I called VSP to confirm but at that point I forwent my annual checkup. By the way, I was employed by Genentech and had VSP taken out of my weekly pay and another store had no problem with my benefits. When I reminded them of this, because I did not want to be cancelled the week before the appointment again, they said “no, we don’t do that.” I told them there is no reason for me to make it up and the lady kept insisting that is not something they do. And her tone was absolutely so rude! At this point, why didn’t she just say she was sorry I had that experience and made sure it won’t happen again? WTF. The second experience is the day of and I was running 10 minutes late because they was a FATAL accident in Chinatown and the police was diverting traffic from the first block after the Broadway tunnel. I was sitting that tunnel for 30 minutes (I was lucky I had even given myself an30minute buffer). I asked the front desk lady, if I can use the bathroom. her answer? “Well, you will have to ask Dr. Yeh if you can.” So, I didn’t bother and held my bladder through out the whole exam to make sure I could keep my appointment. Serious lack of customer service upfront. I know they want to brand themselves as upscale, catering to professionals like lawyers and techies, but at this point I felt like I might as well have been in Vallejo or Hayward. To be clear, I would give the medical and technicians stellar reviews but the experience was tainted greatly.
