My partner and I, and our senior cat, moved here from Chicago. We had a wonderful vet there, and tried a couple of vets locally, but they didn’t click. Our cat is nearing the end of her life, and we wanted to find a vet that felt like home. We made an appointment at the Felton Veterinary Hospital, and immediately felt at ease. Everyone we interacted with, even over the phone, were incredibly kind, patient, and understanding. They’re guiding us on making sure our cat is comfortable and happy as she can be while slowing down. Keep doing what you’re doing, and thank you so much.

Yesterday the neighbor’s dog almost tore my 10 year old Grady’s ear off. He was bleeding SO bad. I rushed Grady down to Felton Vet. The office gals were super nice. As busy as they were, they were able to take Grady in fairly quickly. The doctor had to do surgery on Grady. Because he is a large breed and older, they had to be careful. The doctor spent her lunch break repairing Grady’s ear. She had to remove even more of his ear because the damage was so bad. She was very careful and spent an entire hour and half stitching him back together. She even did it in a way that Grady wouldn’t look horribly disfigured afterward. I’m not going to lie....the surgery was very expensive, but Grady received excellent, gentle care and was sent home with pain control, anti-inflammatory meds and antibiotics, and is resting at home now as comfortably as possible. Although Felton Vet is a bit pricey, they do an incredible job and go ‘over and beyond’ with the animals! If your animal is sick or injured, rest assured Felton Vet will bend over backwards to fix your fur baby and get them healthy again! I am very grateful for the time and care they gave my sweet old Grady yesterday. The doctors here are kind and caring and extremely knowledgeable and thorough. I highly recommend Felton Vet. Your animals will be in the best hands here!

Felton Vet Hospital seems to provide care by committee, The animal is met by a tech who takes some information from the owner. That information does not seem to be forwarded to a doctor or other staff. Upon discharge again a tech may bring the animal and go over any instructions, again sometimes no vet seen, Because of this practice no relationship is established between the owner and a doctor. As with a human child the owner/parent needs to be part of the process and involved with the solution The lack of this exchange of information leads to unneeded meds being dispensed and charged for or previous visit instructions ignored. Owner concerns or requests are ignored creating a lack of trust and frustration. While I understand COVID 19 has forced changes in how care is provided removing an exchange of information between the doctor and owner is not acceptable.
For all the above concerns Felton Vet Hospital will never see any of my animals again.
