You really don't want to hear. I never in the my life thought I was going to choke to death at the dentist. Whatever she used swelled my throat up and I could not even swollow for about 15 minutes. My throat was still bothering me when I got to Eastview. I see my doctor all the time and he takes care of my vitals not the dentist. That girl will never clean my teeth again.

Im sorry you feel that way Joan. When patients go a long time between cleaning appointments the teeth can be sensitive to clean. The numbing gel that you requested to help with the sensitivity gives the sensation that the throat is swelling when in actuality it is not. We check vitals on all our patients as a cautionary measure to ensure they are in good health.
