Christie & Co Salon Spa

I love Christie’s. My hair stylist is the best, my colorist is always spot on and the staff is engaging and professional. The one negative I am finding is the increase in prices. In two months the keratin treatment went up $25. It is getting to the point that I will have to find another salon with the same services. I am A VIP member, and thank goodness for that (at a cost of $99 per year!), but it still cost me $308 and that did not include the 20% that I always try to give as a tip. Lois, I know things are more expensive, but you either need to stop increasing the prices or do away with all these “taxes”. According to the laws on taxes, there is no NYS tax on salon services. There is a NYC 4.75%. What is a retail tax? What is a service tax? (Is that the NYC tax @ 4.75%?) What is a service charge? Those “service” fees are listed separately. Maybe incorporate a benefit that if you go once a month for a single process, you get a 50% discount after the 4th visit? Maybe VIP members could use a VISA or Mastercard without incurring the 3% “convenience charge”? It is evident that using a credit card is convenient for a customer and obviously inconvenient to have $300 cash on hand to pay for services. I certainly am not shy and have posted my name. You have my number, call me if you want to chat. In the meantime, have a great day.
