I've been a patient of doctor Burke's since I was young he was my first eye doctor. I moved to TN 8 years ago but I was having major vision issues. On my drive back up to CT I called Dr. Burke's office and explained to them what was going on with my vision. They squeezed me in for an appointment within a few days. Dr Burke is amazing and he is very thorough while explaining everything along the way. His office staff is kind, considerate, and very helpful! I love them all. I will be making another trip to CT from TN to see Dr. Burke and his wonderful staff for a follow-up!

Two of my children had an appointment at 1. We went in at 12:50 to make sure we got in on time. Door was locked. We sat in the car and went back at 12:57. Door locked. We stood outside the door listening to the laughing and giggling and talking inside. Went back in the car. Went back at 1:05. Door was locked. Knocked on the door. Tried the door again. Took a picture of ourselves at the door and the current time. Still hearing the laughing and talking inside. Asked the kids if they wanted to leave because this is unprofessional and ridiculous. Start walking away and we get to the outer door and start to leave. They finally decide to open the door at 1:10. We go in and they take one kid while the other waits for a few minutes. No problem. They switch back and forth. The kids are texting me on the wait and what’s going on. No problem. The lady that helped them pick their glasses was nice and sweet and accommodating - super helpful. The optician was ok. The kids said that she was a little rough, a little gruff and hard to understand and not like their usual ophthalmologist which is expected as this is a small town in CT and not Westchester, NY. The elderly lady at the desk that collected our payment was the icing on the cake to this..appointment. I heard her tell the person before us that the system was down and couldn’t take payments. I’m not sure if this was a secret code for something or it was really down or what. However, when it was our turn to pay I didn’t think of it because I just wanted to leave as it was taking quite some time. (I’m used to long appointments as I’m a triplet and twin mom - so appointments take time) So I swipe the card and she tells me it’s declined. I ask her if I can try it again after I double check my Chase account - there’s money there - it’s a medical savings acct. I swiped it again and she says it’s declined and there’s no money. I look at the app again and see that the charge isn’t even registering - so I ask her if I can please try again because maybe something isn’t going through. She tells me that the number is coming up and it’s not going to make a difference either way. So I ask her to please let me try again. She just huffs and looks at the computer. So I ask her if I can try another card, cash, check, whatever..she doesn’t answer so I just tell her I’ll pay cash - I fumble around to give her the money for my kids glasses and she’s looking at me with such disdain and disappointment. She writes me a receipt and we couldn’t leave fast enough. Unfortunately, we have to return for the glasses and I have another appointment for the other kids. I guess we’ll see if she was having a bad day or that’s just her personality.

As honest as the day is long. I was told by one shop that I needed a $1000 brake job. I went to Berkshire and told them to do it, and they absolutely REFUSED to sell me a brake job....said that there's nothing wrong with the brakes (and didn't charge me to look at them either). They had permission to do the job, I felt it was needed, but I didn't want to pay $1000. I thought I could save a buck. I saved $1000. They have a customer for life in me!
