I had back and leg pain increasing so rapidly that within a month I was on prescription, opioid pain medication from my Physicians recommendation/prescription. After reaching the full ‘therapeutic’ dose, the pain was much more tolerable, while on the opioid drug. My medical practitioner also prescribed physical therapy, which I could do as long as the pain medication was working.
Medical X-rays, taken two years earlier had revealed that I had a spinal issue of sublaxation at L4 and L5.
While on the opioid pain medication, I decided something had to be done to end the downward spiral I had just entered into. Status quo, at this time, was requiring pain medication of increasing future dosages.
With my medical practitioners blessing, I came to Gateway Chiropractic. Dr. Mike handled my incoming evaluation and I was relieved to know my circumstances, though advanced, could be improved through managed care. That translated in my mind to being able to stop the rapid decline in health; with a good chance of getting off the pain medication cycle as well.
After a month of 3 visits per week, I was off of the pain medication, and after another week or two I was down to one adjustment per week, and no more pain med refills are needed.
At this point, I started attending the Health Events/workshops put on at Gateway Chiropractic. Once I attended one of these, I appreciated the well researched, straight forward and informal manner in which it was conducted. Without any doubt, attending these informative events are the next step toward overall health improvement and a fantastic way to meet nice folks.
