On Thursday I received a call advising you had a cancellation on Friday at 12:10 and would I like to take it. As I was overdue for my annual review with Dr. Kreuz I gladly accepted, I arrive for my appointment on Friday and announce to Admin reception who I was and that I was here for a 12:10 appointment with Dr. Kreuz. I got a surprised look and was told that Dr. Kreuz was not in the office today. She continued to check her computer and then realized that I was the patient offered the cancellation appointment. She then announced that Dr. Kreuz's partner Dr. Ohno would be happy to do my annual checkup would this be OK. I advised that I have never heard of Dr. Ohno and when did he/she join the clinic. Once given the background and story, I said no problem, I would be glad to see Dr. Ohno.
My question to the Dental Centre is doesn't this all seem a little unprofessional. Why was I asked if I was ok to switch dentists at the front counter when it would have been much more appropriate to have told me that when I was asked if I would take the cancellation. More than a little disappointing.
Hi there thank you for your query. As I mentioned at the time of your visit I had forgotten to discuss this with you since it was a last minute addition to the schedule. We appreciate that you were open to have Dr. Ohno do your check up on Friday and please note this is not a permanent switch. If you have any questions please let us know.
