Although I spent longer than usual for this appointment, it was really only a little over an hour. My provider apologized for running late, so had the lab work done prior to our visit, and was able to give me feedback on some of the labs, same day. I also had had a test ordered by a Grace specialist, who never contacted me with the results, even though I called and asked about the results, so my PCP took the time to look that up and report it to me. Darlene Cornwell, NP also reviews my chart before she speaks to me; I can tell; she talks about my medical history in a knowledgeable way. I so appreciate that. Many providers do not do that. She gets a gold star.

Went in for knee pain, they did X-rays and sent me home. Apparently they called in prescriptions but didn't tell me and after I called twice to get some for the pain I was notified that they had already been called in. Wallgreens had a nationwide outage and the prescriptions never got added to the system. We called after hours when we found out so that they could call in an RX somewhere else (NOT a refill) and the after hours answering service said they cant do anything about it. The next day we call first thing and tried to get the RX sent to another place since it would be 10 before the wallgreens would be open (they couldn't, had to wait until it was open) fine....After all day of being in pain and having chills and the knee was hot to the touch we tried calling back and got the after hours answering service again. Tried to explain and told them he saw the nurse practitioner (ma'am if you cant give me a doctors name then I cant help you) me: (he didn't see a doctor he saw the nurse practitioner and gave a name close to what her name was) again was told if I couldn't provide a name of an Actual DOCTOR then she couldn't help. (he needed an antibiotic to fight off whatever infection he had in his knee, was given an RX that would not allow his body to fight the infection had he got one....which he had in the first place because he had chills and it was hot to the touch the entire time) We asked Friday and Saturday when the X-Rays would be read because we spoke to a nurse the first time and the nurse practitioner the second, the answer (probably Monday)(why take them and send him home if you couldn't get them read that day) (why not let a patient know that ahead of time so they could go somewhere else). Sunday the Nurse practitioner called said the X-rays were read and what the issue was and we asked for the antibiotic, she had no problem calling one in and he felt better hours within taking it. GRRRRR this was one of the most frustrating health care visits we have ever experienced.

The only thing that I am unhappy with is the fact that they want you to be there 15 minutes early and the person that is supposed to be there to check you in doesn't get there until your appointment time, not the 15 minutes early like you were.
