I was very disappointed to be told that my cat would need to be sedated for future checkups. This is the reason I brought her to GBAH several years ago in the first place! Yesterday I was told I would have to give her gabapentin so she would have a “pleasant experience”. Well, been there tried that at another vet, then found GBAH and 2 wonderful vets, both who have left GBAH, who never mentioned sedation ONCE. They wrapped her in a towel and had someone hold her; they basically said she was “all hiss and no bite”. I am really upset about this because I will probably be scratched and clawed if I try to give her the pill and it DID NOT WORK the last time at the previous AH anyway. I don’t know why they refuse to give her this pill at GBAH either, because if I try to do it she will come in extremely stressed, and I know a tech could pop it in in an instant. I want a response please because otherwise I will have to look for another practice with a vet who can handle “fractious” cats. I can’t believe my cat is the ONLY DIFFICULT CUSTOMER YOU HAVE. SEDATION?! Why did the 2 vets who left have NO PROBLEM WITH MY CAT??
