Dr. Gupta is well-renowned throughout San Diego County for his knowledge and skills in plastic and reconstructive surgery. He specializes in surgery of the face, breast and abdomen. Dr. Gupta graduated with his degree in medicine from the University of Western Ontario in his home country of Canada. After completing residency training in general surgery and then plastic surgery, Dr. Gupta completed two more years of highly specialized subspecialty fellowship training. He first completed a year of training in microsurgical reconstruction at the internationally renowned M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. He then completed another year of advanced aesthetic and breast surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Florida.

Dr. Gupta has been in practice as a board certified plastic surgeon for the past 15 years. Following his advanced fellowship training in Texas and Florida, Dr. Gupta was hired to the faculty of the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio as an Assistant Professor of Surgery. During his four years of practice in San Antonio, Dr. Gupta served as the Chief of Breast Surgery and Reconstructive Microsurgery and was the associate program director for the plastic surgery residency program. There Dr. Gupta trained other surgeons in the highly specialized art and skill of plastic and reconstructive surgery.

Since moving to San Diego in 2004, Dr. Gupta has built a very busy practice with multiple locations throughout San Diego County, including Vista, Poway and Temecula. He is the plastic surgeon of choice for a large number of doctors in San Diego County.

Dr. Gupta is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the American Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery, the California Society of Plastic Surgeons, the San Diego Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons and the San Diego County Medical Society. He is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

Dr. Gupta is nationally renowned for his knowledge and skill in aesthetic surgery, breast augmentation surgery and cancer reconstruction. He regularly presents his experience and research findings at many national and international meetings and has published his work in numerous journals and textbooks. Dr. Gupta has been featured in many plastic surgery-related newspaper and television news segments in San Diego and Texas.

Dr. Gupta lives in San Diego with his wife and three children. His interests include golf, surfing, tennis, scuba diving and marathon running.
