This was my first time going anywhere to get a facial in the States. I think as my first facial here, it was good. Good enough for me to want to go back and also sign up for a membership afterwards. The only request I would make for the person who did my facial would be to apply a bit more pressure. I personally like a bit more pressure to get that massage feel as opposed just a glide on my skin. Had my experience ended here I would've given another star to make it 4. However, what made me give three stars is what happened at reception. As I was going to pay for my service, I had mentioned to her that the tip was included. Having worked in customer service before with a lot of my friends and family also having worked in that industry, I'd like to think that I always tip well and usually will round up with my tips. So that being said I tipped 20% off of my bill. Then the girl at the front desk said something along the lines of "Does that also include tip for us as well?". Now I'm not sure if I'm just out of the loop as to who gets tipped at a spa type place, but I've never heard of reception getting tipped in addition to the person providing the service (I will be checking with my facialist at my next appointment). I gave them $7 anyway instead of inquiring about it on the spot since I had other engagements that day, but assuming tipping the front desk isn't customary, that part of my experience was very uncomfortable and I feel unprofessional. Overall, I did still sign up for the membership because I did like the person who did my facial and I wanted somewhere to go closer to home. But had it not been for the relaxing facial and the fact that as of right now I don't know of a lot of spas closer to me, not only would I not return but I wouldn't necessarily suggest this. location to anyone else either.
