I decided to give Hand & Stone Massage a try based on positive online reviews. I am pregnant, and my prenatal massage was not very good or relaxing compared to other prenatal massages I have received at competitor massage chains. My therapist massaged areas I specified not to be massaged in the paperwork - why fill out the paperwork in advance, then? And when I asked that she focus on specific areas of pain or discomfort, she told me she had not gotten to those areas yet, so I had to wait. Roll pillows were not covered with pillow covers. When I asked the receptionist for recommendations of highly rated prenatal massage therapists, she said she could not say, instead giving me a list of 7 massage therapists who were certified in prenatal massage and that it was personal preference and I had to try them to see. If I am paying $75-$110 (including tax and tip) for a massage, and my first one was mediocre, I want to know who has good feedback from clients if I am to get another massage here.
