Booked a 60 minute Swedish massage with a Deep Tissue add-on, on 11/19/17. The place was nice and the front desk was attentive. However, the massage I recieved was a Chinese massage (long wide strokes with forearms and no effleurage which is specific to swedish style) and no specific attention to any of my sore spots or places that I had pointed out that need special attention.
Part of this was due to the fact that my therapist didn't speak english at all. She actually left the room at one point during my service after placing really hot stones on my back - no, I did NOT ask for hot stones.
When I noted that my therapist didn't provide a Swedish Massage, the front desk actually acknowledged that her "technique was different and they she had a more firm touch that consistent with deep tissue". I said that was not what I booked and it was not deep tissue. The front desk girl then said...
"What would you like me to do?"
I responded that I would like for the manager or the owner to call me about my experience. She said the manager (Aurthur) would be out until Tuesday and asked me to write down my name and phone number, even though they had all of that in the system and the intake paperwork that I had filled out. I specifically said that if I did not hear from anyone that I would be leaving a bad review and she shrugged.
Obviously, I have yet to hear from anyone and it has been 5 days. I don't blame the therapist, she has been hired at a place that she does not perform the expected swedish massage and has been set up to fail.
I have been getting massages for over 20 years and I know the difference between a swedish and a chinese massage, however it seems that the owner/mgr clearly hired her thinking that their patrons would not notice the difference.
Wrong services, deceitful representation and poor customer care make this a place that I would warn against.
