I hadn't been to the dentist in.... well, a while (over 5 years) and I was so nervous to make that appointment. Not only did I have a bad experience, but I had also changed jobs, changed dental insurances, had two major family members pass, etc., etc. I had all the excuses for why I hadn't been going to the dentist, even though for the majority of my life I had gone religiously twice a year for cleanings, x-rays. Overall, my teeth and general health had been pretty good, but I was still nervous about going to the dentist. It's funny how one bad experience or life crises can make us put our own health on the back-burner.
Ultimately, though, it all caught up with me and I was forced to face life. I was having some undeniable pain in my mouth. I just knew it had to be a cavity, or two or three; and I felt I likely a bad crown. I was now forced to not only find a new dentist, but to admit that I had been neglecting my dental health.
I searched and searched the numerous options for dentists in the south metro. How do you ever determine which one to go to? I received a couple recommendations from friends; but as much as I love my friends, I just wasn’t comfortable with their recommendations. I continued to search on my own until I came upon Heart of the City Dental. I had no recommendations on them, but their reviews were excellent and my gut instinct said this was the place - go for it.
Moving ahead to my visit, I can say that my gut instinct was right. They are top notch! Excellent! Fantastic! Did I say they are good? They are! First, my dental hygienist, Heidi, is probably the most kind, gentle person I have ever met. She was absolutely amazing. Not once did she lecture me or even bring up that I hadn’t been to the dentist in a while. It was almost as if I could have hidden it from her (yea, not really), but she never made me feel bad in any way. She was so professional and her cleaning technique was gentle, but thorough. I don’t believe I have ever left a dentist office with my teeth not hurting from the cleaning. Thank you Heidi. You are awesome!
Second, my dentist, Dr. Heidi, was just as amazing. After reviewing extensive x-rays and conducting an oral exam, she gave me the best news yet - no cavities! And, the crown is in good condition too. She delivered this good news with a smile and no lectures. I even received a thank you card with a hand-written, “Yea. No cavities!” on there (because she knew how stressed out I was about it).
So this is a long review, my apologies, but all this to say, do NOT hesitate to go to the Heart of the City Dental. No matter your reasoning, they are so professional, so courteous, so kind. Everyone is great from the moment you walk in the door to the moment you leave. They should provide customer service training to other businesses - they know how to do it right.
Thank you Heart of the City Dental. I will be back, in 6 months - my appointment is already made. I promise.
