I brought my 14 year-old domestic longhair cat, Ivan, to them when he suffering from a horrible URI based on the recommendation of a friend. Their prices for services and meds have been low/reasonable, their doctors are knowledgeable and professional, and their counter staff go above and beyond.

been going here a LONG time and would have rated then well above average all this time until the last year . Big turn over in staff, which means turn over in quality of work.

I would like a reasonable answer as to why Kenzie had an 8 o'lock appontmet, was the first one there and wasn't finished until 12:30. I do understand that the groomers wash many of the dogs all at once and dry them then the longest time is the groomimg. We belong to the spa program but have been told if we are willing to pay more, then she would be fnished sooner. Why is that?? We have been going to Highland Clinic since 1997 and have appreciated all the care that has been given to our dogs. It really is hard to understand the only answer we have been given, no matter what time her appiomtmet was, they had a lot of dogs to groom. Why bother with an early appointment? How can I understand that my poor dog was at the groomers for 4 ½ hours just for a grooming? Do you realize how long she was in a crate? I also question if she was given any water or was let out to go potty at all because the minute she was picked up she drank and drank water that we had in the car. Thiis is not the first time her groomimg took so long. I would appreciate an answer to my concerns. Dotty Murray

Dr Johnson is a trusted, caring, devoted DVM, who goes to great lengths to ensure all of our pets' good health. His associate is also thorough and is also happy to take time to explain the problems and needs, as well as options for treatment and advice for our pets' care. The assistants are all caring, gentle conscientious, professional and helpful. We are grateful for the care our pets have received over the past 30yrs. Highland is a credit to our community!

The person who groomed my Yorkie obviously had neither experience nor the initiative to ask for help so caused my dog to easily pass for a hairless mutt when the deed was finished. That person has no business trying to pass for a dog groomer and should not be let near any client's dog without close supervised instruction. That said, the kindly knowing counter woman was very understandingly sweet and canceled payment. Yes, one bad experience countered by a good one keeps Highlands for me as a good place for my dog to go...with a different, or perhaps better trained groomer.

Highland Animal Clinic & Pet Grooming replied:

Hi Jackie,

We would like to go further to understand what happened that day in grooming. We are interviewing who groomed the dog that day and will try to find out if there were any issues on her end. We normally have a grooming instruction sheet that explains which type of cut, clip and specific instructions; ie: "clean feet and face" - with explanation that this is close shave on these items. We have this to make sure the instructions are clear and not misinterpreted. I have spoken to the grooming department members and it appears they have not been consistently using these items. We are committed to staying with these procedures to make sure experiences like yours do not happen in the future. Thanks for letting us know and we hope you will be back for more grooming.

Sincerely,
