We rolled (almost literally) into town with a Volvo wagon that was having serious power issues - barely made it up and over the pass by Cascade Lakes. We did a quick internet search and Hoffman was highly regarded and nearby. Right from the moment we walked in the door, it was clear that these guys take their business seriously, and very quickly overcame that gnawing fear that we're about to be taken advantage of by unscrupulous mechanics when we're vulnerable and far from home. While they weren't able to jump on our repair immediately, within 24 hours they had performed a stunningly comprehensive review of our car's systems, and presented us with a virtual catalog of the car's issues, for an extremely reasonable fee. And while ultimately they weren't able to replicate the problem (and which hasn't reappeared since), I would gladly have them perform any repairs or maintenance on my car in the future, should I be in Lake Placid. I wish they were closer to where we live in southern Vermont - they would be my mechanic in a heartbeat. Great job, guys!
