I visited the office for cataract surgery. All the staff from receptionist to the assistants were very friendly and professional. And Dr. howthorne spent time examining me and explaining to me. They treated me well. I gave 4 stars because of the long waiting time, nice if reduce number of appointments. I noticed one mother was having a tough time trying to take care of the toddler during the long waiting.
Dr Hawthorne is a good doctor she listens to what you want to know and explains everything to you. But she needs help she is there buy her self which causes alot of people to have to wait 30 to 40 minutes after your appt. time. Not good. So get her some help please. Thanks patricia martinez
Arrived for my Appointment on time-10:12am. Waited 45 minutes which I believe is a long time . Upset I informed the receptionist I was leaving. Oh well apparently it was no big deal to her. Not even a excuse for the delay. My time is just as important as theirs.
We love Dr Kelly. He's just wonderful. We are very happy with the treatments he prescribes. The ladies in front are so nice and very helpful. The entire staff is great! They take the time to explain everything about procedures and insurance.
I liked my physician, Dr. Hawthorne, and staff was friendly. I have been extremely frustrated, however, with my eyeglass prescription. First of all , it wasn't given to me at the visit, and I had to call and return for it. Upon taking it to an optician to order new glasses, we discovered the ADD power was not filled in. I had to recontact Howerton Clinic to get a new prescription. Because a technician had to do this first, I left the optical shop to wait. Once it was faxed, I had to return to the optical shop to complete the eyeglass fitting and transaction. A week later, the glasses arrived, so I went back to the optical shop to get them. I could not see through the left lens! Turns out, there was an error on the prescription. It appeared that a value that should have read "170" was, instead, recorded as "70". I was told to return to Howerton to have the eye reexamined to confirm this. I was seen quickly, but the technician there (unlike the supervisor I spoke with on the phone) found the correct value in my medical record and had the prescription corrected accordingly. Another unnecessary trip. The office faxed it to the optician and I now wait another week before the new glasses will be ready. Three trips to Howerton already, numerous phone calls, and at least four trips to the optical shop. I am a new patient, having just relocated from north Austin to a southern suburb, and have found this to be most unsatisfactory!
