Surprised they emailed me asking for a review but since they did I will write one: So I am now looking for a new doggie day care for my boys because the one that I have been going to for 41/2 years ( Happy Trails in Acworth ) has now decided they no longer want my business. The new owners ( 2 young girls) took over this year and apparently my dogs (or me) are now too high maintenance for them. I really have no idea what happened as nothing makes sense but on our last day of boarding, this last time over the Thanksgiving holiday, I got a phone call while I was still out of town saying my Roscoe was coughing and had to be separated from the other dogs and because they want to give a high level of care to all of the dogs we are no longer welcome to come there. Now the crazy thing is my other dog Freddie came home with a cough from there just 2.5 weeks prior, the Vet said he just had a scratchy throat and he was fine but gave him a round of antibiotics just to help ensure he was ok as he would be going to day-care / boarding in 8 days....which I explained to Rachel on drop-off day on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and there was no issue and Freddie according to my Vet was not contagious at all. So I pick up my dogs Tuesday morning after vacation, they were doing great and Roscoe did not cough one time all day on Tuesday and seems to be feeling good, just exhausted from 6 days at boarding with all of the play time.
So long story short, we were banned from Happy Trails with no true explanation or reason other than the owner Rachel had a melt down and took it out on me that Monday morning when she called venting on me for 20 minutes straight over an apparent cough that I have yet to witness!
My dogs have always enjoyed going there and I felt that they were always well taken care of but I now feel that the new owners may not handle the stress of such a big business, a busy holiday boarding schedule or any potential issues with your dog in the best way. I am actually very disappointed with this situation for both my dogs and myself.
Again, we completely understand your frustrations. We deemed that due reoccurring health issues with Freddy and Roscoe that they require above the care that is offered within our services. Due to recent events, we have set up protocol to try to prevent any spreading of upper respiratory infections in our facility. If any dog presents signs of upper respiratory infections, we must isolate the dog to try to prevent further contamination. Due to past issues with health concerns, and private observation with Freddy and Roscoe we are unable to care for health needs that go above our range of care. All dogs that participate in our services including group play with other dogs must be in good health. Ray and I both, have spoken to you in regards to these reoccurring situations. We offered you full transparency with each situation. We also offered medical attention and helped arrange individual care during these events. We also set up private communication with you so you could texted or call to check on your dogs whenever necessary. We tried to retain you as a client but due to the nature of care, we are not equip to do so in this environment.
