Wife took car in for malfunction indicator light and VSC light came on the night before. When called with estimate to fix, after the diagnostic were run, they also included charges to replace windshield wipers and rotate tires which were not asked for. Tires are done elsewhere and she has not noted any issues with wipers. She declined those and was told they would back out those charges (ie, so they weren't thrown in for free). If other issues are found in need of repair or replacement we're fine being told about them as optional add on but not bundled into the quote for the main reason for coming in. Still, plan to use them again in the future due to local shop and convenience. Staff is very friendly.

When a customer bring a car in for service we do our normal inspection, and make recommendations about what the car needs based upon our observations. JR recommended that you replace the windshield wipers and rotate the tires. If you would rather purchase the wipers and install them yourself that is no problem. As for tire rotation, again we offer the recommendation, but often times a customer has it done free of charge by the company that installed the tires. When JR call a customer to let them know what we found with the original problem (VSC light) he will mention our recommendations at that time, not that we have done the work, it is just a recommendation, we don't do any work without prior authorization from the customer.

Reading your comments, I thought there might have been some misunderstanding.

This is the 3rd time I've brought my car to Integrity with a "problem" and was told there wasn't anything major wrong. Twice it required just a minor fix. In fact, the problems Midas called urgent (like timing belt) you have said can wait. Thank you for being honest and only doing the work that needs to be done!
