James Lynn and Sons has been in business for more than 65 years.
Dear old Uncle Fred may be willing to help with some of those jobs, but that doesn't mean he actually knows what he's doing! Oh, and we won't drink all the beer in your fridge while "working".
Our workforce are covered by Workman's Comp, and are fully insured and bonded. Not so with Uncle Fred, and sadly also not with many other service companies either. Did you know that most window cleaners (yes, the guys who climb up ladders all day) are uninsured? Take a moment and think about what that could mean to you. The sound you hear in the background is lawyers rubbing their hands together.
Our customers feel safe and secure, as our employees arrive at the location in clearly identifiable uniforms. Why wouldn't they? After all, we're professionals, not handymen earning extra money when their business is slow.
We work with chemicals which are environmentally safe, biodegradable, and OSHA approved. Not only because it's safer for you, and better for our environment, but also because we have to be around them every day. Good employees like ours are hard enough to find, train, and feed - we don't need to have them off sick half the time!
Our crews carry material data safety sheets on each chemical, for both your, and our protection. They make fascinating reading... if you have insomnia.
Our mothers taught us that we should do things properly, just because it was the right thing to do. Yours too, no doubt. Then life taught us that there was another reason - you don't have to waste all that time going back and fixing what you did wrong. And also that nobody shouts at you. OK, almost nobody. Some people just like to yell.... you know who you are, Mrs. Aardvark.
This is the paragraph where I'm supposed to say something like: we LOVE what we do. If you think about it, would you really trust the sanity of somebody who was that excited about doing what you're prepared to pay not to have to do? Rather than us sitting on the beach, sipping drinks with umbrellas in them?
In reality, there is a satisfaction in a job well done, so it is rewarding, even when hard work. And if you're making something in a factory (remember when we had those here?), you don't get to see the pleasure it brings the purchaser. We get to see your smiling face when we finish. Although home-baked cookies would be even better.....
Now look. Only a few of you will know how much you're supposed to "ooh" and "aah" about the next stuff. It's the professional certifications. But we spent all that time and money in training, or qualifying for the trade groups, and you can't even see the rather unimpressive certificates on our wall. And the trade associations don't even have annual meetings in the Bahamas. So listen up while we boast a little.
We belong to the Power Washers of North America association. You wouldn't believe how much damage Uncle Fred could do with that power washer from Home Depot, and no experience. Imagine how badly an unqualified guy with a pro washer could tear up your house.
We belong to the International Window Cleaning Association, who conducted our high-rise certification training. If you think it's nuts to climb a 40 foot ladder, our high-rise guys are beyond belief.
We're a part of the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration Certification. Impressed, huh? It means we know what we're doing with carpets, flooring, upholstery, etc.
We're Wolman Certified (no, not wolfman - your eyes are glazing over) in wood and deck restoration.
We're professionals. In this business for the long haul, so we want to keep our customers, and keep them happy. Because we didn't go to all this trouble and training just to pack up and wash cars if we can't satisfy you this year, next year, and the years after.
Try us. You won't be sorry.
