Dr Kellett is caring, considerate and professional. The office policy on the other hand leaves a lot to be desired - it seems they shoot out a group test when there is a cancellation and the first person to get through is the winner. I got such a text and called only to get “user busy” as a response. I followed by texting back that I would take the appointment. I then called to confirm that I had the appointment and spoke with someone who thought it amusing that I was disappointed I hadn’t called in time to get the cancellation spot. I proceeded to tell her how unprofessional I thought this policy was. I wasn’t calling to be the first caller to win a contest. I was calling because I felt I needed to be seen by the doctor sooner rather than later. I have worked in the medical profession myself for thirty years and am a patient of the doctors from early in in her practice and didn’t expect this to happen at her office.
Maybe my expressing my feelings worked because I actually got a phone call within days offering me a cancelled appointment. Let’s hope that this is how future cancellations are handled.
