The girl at the front desk is useless and needs to be gone. I have been coming to see glenn religiously for a cleaning once a year. The front desk girl always looks at me as if i'm an intruder and asks me what my name is after I've already sat down to wait for my hyginist to call me back. The rest of the staff already knows who i am and there is no reason why I need to share my personal information. She always tries to chitchat with me and i don't care for her. I only see glenn for my cleaning. He should be the only one asking me personal questions since he is my doctor. After my last visit, she tried to ask me if I was doing anything for the weekend as if shes expecting me to invite her. I am really thinking about switching dentists because of her personal questions but i really like glenn, I've been going to him since the pandemic. i don't know if she has access to my address but i really dont want her coming over and i may even switch to a po box so that she cant bother me anymore
We are so sorry that you had this experience. We see so many patients on a day-to-day basis that we always recommend checking in at the front desk so that we can mark you as 'ready' for your visit- this allows the rest of the staff to be aware of your arrival and to call you back. By checking in, this allows us to stay on-time with our schedule and avoids confusion on calling back the wrong patient.
We always like to welcome all of our patients and make them feel welcome, and sometimes we make small talk and ask questions like, "How was your day?" and "Do you have any plans for the weekend?". This does not necessarily mean we expect you to invite us along with you- we are just making small talk and creating a special office-patient relationship with you. I assure you that Paula- our front desk receptionist and office manager- will not bother you about anything non-dental related.
