Our story starts many years ago with Burggraf Tire. Once spanning from Eastern Tennessee to Southern Texas and beyond Tuscon, Arizona, Clarence Burggraf helped his father build Burggraf Tire into an industry leader among tire distributors. Working as floor sweep, Joe Karnes began his career with Burggraf at the age of 12. Joe had no idea that 38 years later Clarence would call him into his office to say, "Joe, I'm tired. I'm ready to play golf and enjoy good friends at Wilder's."

After seeing his hard work and dedication to the company that so reminded Clarence of himself, he knew that Joe was the only choice to carry on his legacy. Joe purchased the company from Clarence and began implementing his vision of what a successful, employee-centered company should look like.
