Dr. Childress grew up in Pueblo, Colorado. In 1982 he graduated from high school where he earned a

Navy ROTC

scholarship and attended the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Upon graduation from college he was commissioned and reported to Pensacola, Florida for flight training.

Dr. Childress was selected to fly helicopters. He then reported to Mayport, Florida and was assigned to HSL-42 where he flew the SH-60B Seahawk. While assigned to HSL-42 he had many deployments including a deployment to Southwest Asia being part of Desert Storm and Desert Shield. He was awarded an Air Medal and Navy Commendation for his service there. Dr. Childress proudly served 8 years in the Navy.

In 2000 he graduated from the University Of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, Colorado. Upon receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree he returned to Pueblo, Colorado where he began practicing in the dental clinic his father began in 1964.

Dr. Childress has been treating children and young adolescent's dental and orthodontic needs since 2006. Today, he is owner dentist of the Children's Dental Clinic of Ruidoso located in the beautiful mountain resort village of Ruidoso, New Mexico. He is also owner dentist of the Children's Dental Clinic of Alamogordo.

Dr. Childress lives in Southeastern New Mexico with his lovely wife, Laura. Together they have four children and one grandson.

He is a member of the American Dental Association, New Mexico Dental Association, American Orthodontic Society and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
