Not good at all. Got a quote for $600, for a radiator and hoses. Then hours later got another quote for $1600. Radiator, hoses, water pump and timing belt. Then the next day it was $4000. For a whole new motor. Said it was cracked. Don't understand. I was very upset. I told them I couldn't pay that. I missed 3 days of work waiting for my car to be fixed. I just told them to bring my car back to me. They still charged me $483.06 for the towing and 3 hours of work they did on it in three days. I was willing to pay the 1600, but had to draw the line at 4000. So I had to pay almost 500, missed 3 days of pay and still don't have a working car. I was very upset and still is.
Very nice lady. Works at Walmart. Called and I personally answered the phone. She said she needed a radiator and wanted a price. i called her back and quoted $600 and stressed the fact that I was relying on her analysis and the quote may change depending upon the damage. She had a head on collision in a parking lot according to her. Had the car towed since it had no coolant. Tow truck driver said car would not start and he thought it was a timing chain. Our mechanic checked it and that was the case. Called the customer with the unfortunate news. She agreed to repairs for about $1600. As we got down to the timing chain, it was obvious that there was damage to rods and pistons. Upon further questioning, the customer was driving on 820 when the car came to a sudden stop. She had car towed to her home. What she thought was a radiator problem was really the timing chain breaking and the various internal componets of her engine getting damaged. Researched a solution. Used engine with 12 month warranty plus the radiator was going to be close to $4,000. Additional point: front grill damaged. Passenger side headlight and entire fender damaged. I felt bad for this poor lady. She felt we were taking advantage of her. I personally went to her home to initially discuss the timing chain repair and then went back to discuss the engine replacement. We had agreed to finance her for six months at zero interest. Not sure what else we could have done.
