I had my transmission temp light come on after about an hour of highway driving at 65-75mph. Per the owners manual I pulled over and let the engine idle for about 5 minutes and the light went out. This happened pretty consistently on 2 separate trips. I took it to LC Trans and had them diagnose the issue. It's pretty hard to diagnose that problem without spending a couple hours of highway driving. Anyway they suggested that the sensor may be bad and suggested replacing it. I reviewed that diagnosis with my regular mechanic and he said that it could very well be the problem. He has had over his years of experience found many sensors that have failed and simply replacing them took care of the problem. So that's what we did. Now we just have to take a road trip to see if that was the problem. Good, prompt service as usual from LC Transmission.

Made an appointment for a new muffler and decided to have a transmission service done while the vehicle was there. Later that same day i get a call from them telling me that they thought the transmission service was recently done and not necessary, which was true but I wanted it serviced again. When does a auto repair place call to talk you out of spending money? Says it all for me, nice people and professional service.

My husband had a muffler installed at another mechanic shop on his truck and it was so loud that it caused an oscillating sound in the cab that literally caused headaches. He went to Lake City Muffler & Transmission and explained the problem and that the noise got even worse when we towed our 5th wheel. They installed a new muffler assuring him that it would be much more quiet. We went on our annual 10 day camping trip and even on the very first day, we noticed the oscillating noise was back just as loud as ever. My husband contacted Lake City Muffler when we got home and told them the issue. He was disappointed when Rick, the service manager told him that we'd have to pay full price of $280 (we originally paid $197) to rectify the situation, as if we hadn't already paid to fix the problem thr first time. He then spoke to the owner, Ben, who offered to discount the price of them replacing the muffler AGAIN to $125.
As a consumer who believes in and has read all the high standards of both service and warranties that Lake City Muffler claims to provide to all their customers, I'm wondering where is the warranty on our service? Why are we being made to pay not only for the labor of a second repair but also the parts...the part that they, in their professional opinion should have solved our problem on the first repair?
