About
A native of Greenfield MA, Dr. Brown graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine, Kansas State University after receiving her undergraduate degree from Hampshire College in Amherst MA. When she returned to the area with her DVM degree, she worked as an associate at the Pioneer Valley Veterinary Hospital for a few years. In 1994 Dr. Brown established her own small animal veterinary hospital in Turners Falls, MA. Since then Dr. Brown and her staff have been providing quality care for dogs, cats and pocket pets including guinea pigs, ferrets, hamsters, and gerbils. Due to severe allergies Dr. Brown cannot provide care to rabbits.

Dr. Rubin took the time to explain Bogie's knee injury to me and what might have to happen (surgery) if his injury didn't get better or if it happened more frequently.
Today Bogie's leg/knee is almost back to normal.
We hope Bogie continues to improve and surgery won't be necessary!

Thank you for your input. We are always concerned in those rare occasions when we received only a 3 star review. Yes, we do charge a $15 office fee for a blood draw. This type of appointment requires the time of at least two veterinary nurses and sometimes a doctor or third nurse. There are also the costs of supplies associated with collecting a blood sample. While this may not have taken much time with your dog, that isn't always the case. There is also time required for entering information into the pet's record and submitting the laboratory requisition. It all takes time. We do need to cover our personnel costs for the time associated with a simple blood draw. We're happy that you found everything else professional and wonderful.
