THE BEST VET IN NEVADA.HIS STAFF HAVE BEEN THERE FOR ME EVERY STEP OF THE WAY . I HAVE HAD DR.MURATORE AS MY VET FOR ALMOST 12 YEARS NOW. I WILL NEVER FORGET THE HOME INVASION AT MY HOME JULY 2016 WHEN THEY PEPPER SPRAYED MY DOG . WHEN I CALLED DR. MURATORE HE TOOK HIM IN RIGHT AWAY AND DIDN'T CHARGE ME TO SEE HIM, HE FIXED HIM UP IN A JIFFY AND WE WENT HOME.
I love Legacy. They are always prompt when I call in or stop by for refills on meds. I never have to wait long for appointments and the vet techs are awesome. The vets, tho are the best I've seen. Two thumbs up!!!
This was my first visit to Legacy. In my opinion, I was overcharged for services. The issue is the Wellness Exam for $32.00 (discounted because Cortez is a rescue). There was no Wellness Exam. The tech who came into the room to do vitals was unable to proceed (wanted to check his lungs) because Cortez was about to bite him. Tech said he understood. New environment, etc. He left the room. The vet came in. Asked a couple of questions about Cortez (e.g. any signs of diarrhea). I asked the vet two non-medical questions. The vet fed Cortez three treats, suggested we do a blood panel (I consented) and left the room with him. The vet came back a few minutes later with the results of the blood panel. This is what occurred.
Upon check out, I told the person at the desk that no Wellness Exam took place. She said, "The doctor came in, didn't he?" Yes, the doctor came in but I don't consider entering a room, and fielding some questions, the same thing as doing a Wellness Exam. I was charged $273.33. I should be charged $241.33: $179.50 for the blood panel, $54.88 for the fecal exam and $6.95 for the regulatory waste fee.
Legacy Animal Hospital really cares about your pet. I’ve been in there only a handful of times and they always know my dog. The vets and vet techs are very good at what they do, which is why I’m always willing to pay a little extra to come here and not a cheaper clinic. Before I got my dog, I had heard horror stories from friends or online about people bringing their pet to various places and learning the hard way that certifications don’t always translate to skill and compassion. I know I can trust the staff at Legacy to do everything they can which means the world to me.
The only reason why this review isn’t 5 stars is because while the pet care itself is fantastic I think the customer service could be improved. As a brand new dog owner, I tend to worry a great deal about my pet which is why a bit more communication from the staff would really go a long way. Especially for those visits where you are leaving your pet in their hands. Even just properly set expectations ahead of time would make a big difference. Also, I tried to book an appointment online once and it went seemingly normal but then I never got any sort of confirmation.
Overall though, this is a great place. I just know that I have to come armed with a sticky note full of questions because otherwise I won’t necessarily get all of the information that I need.
