I had to come in since my dog had failed her first FAVN test. I was assured by the vet that my dogs would pass with no problem. This was not the case for one of my dogs. If I had known there was a chance of failure, I would have waited for their new vaccines to process since the FAVN is not a cheap test. Because of this failure the staff had offered to cover a portion of the cost since it was their mistake. That was not honored and I had to pay the full cost for a new test. The staff was very unapologetic and offered me nothing for their mistake. Very disappointed with the service.

Dear Anonymous,
Sorry for your misunderstanding about how fluorescent antibody viral neutralization testing works but allow me to clarify a few things. There was no mistake made by either my staff of the diagnostic laboratory at Kansas State University where 1000's of sample are tested annually. Our hospital merely draws the blood sample and submits it to the lab for testing. There is never any instance where anyone can state with 100% certainty that the particular patient will pass. The test is designed to determine if the individual patient has adequate antibody levels to protect against rabies. We followed the recommended protocol by the letter and, of course, hoped for a positive result so as to make your trip to Hawaii smoother. My office manager called the lab to see if there was a reduced price for sample re-submission and testing however, unfortunately there was not. We certainly understand your disappointment in the outcome of the test and the need to wait a bit longer before your move however I can assure you that protocol was followed to the letter and we hope that your baby receives a "passing" score on the test and you can continue your adventure in Hawaii. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any further questions or concerns.

Staff is very helpful and through. I had my small dog spayed and they did a outstanding job. Recovery was minimal and the Dr was easy to talk to and explained everything. Extremely satisfied

Dr Muratore knows more about medicine than any vet I’ve ever met, for my dogs or my horse. My husband and I are both medical professionals so we really appreciate his knowledge.
Vet Heather did an ultrasound on our dog yesterday and she was extremely thorough and we feel very confident in her findings.

I’ve been seeing Dr Bower for 20years. On 5/20/22 my dog was really sick and wouldn’t eat. I called Legacy Animal Hospital and they told me to come in right away. They were so nice and courteous! Dr Bower took great care of my boy! He is feeling much better! And is finally eating! Thank you so much !!!
