Great service, comfortable setting and the experience was great.

The one issue I have is that when I made the appointment for waxing I questioned the prices and I was told that if the amount of waxing was less than the normal effort the prices would be adjusted. That conversation never happened, I paid full price. I will question it on my next visit to reduce the pricing based on the amaont of waxing effort

Gava was professional, timely and friendly! She took into account how I usually style my hair (which is pretty low maintenance), told me exactly how much she would be cutting off to fit my request and made suggestions on how to layer my hair. It was a collaborative process that I left feeling really good!

I must admit that I had a really poor experience here yesterday evening which somehow reflects a more general impression from past visits that especially some men seem to get "finished" as quick as possible since they "only" enable the salon to earn 50 $ + tip (I am also saying this since my fiancee is a repeat customer here as well and is taken care of properly every time, but also pays > 250 $ + 35-40 $ tip). But I also may be wrong with this assumption and it might certainly vary from hairdresser to hairdresser (the lady next to me, for instance, seemed to pay very close attention to her customer). Being the last customer on a regular business day, however, seems to be a major disadvantage. At least the person who was taking care of me yesterday evening (Mark), who normally did a great job in the past, was super rushed and "finished" me within less than 10 (!) minutes - something which I had never experienced in my entire life before (leaving aside that considering this to be a "regular haircut" and charging me 50 $ for 10 minutes is questionable if you ask me). He already put me a product in the hair when I was super surprised that "this should be it" apparently. After I kindly asked him to shorten my hair a bit more, he did so in another minute; I also had to explicitly ask him to clear my neck and, right after this, my ears (something which I would consider to be a standard service) and my face was full of fallen hair. No towel provided, no mirror to see how the back of my head looks. I must admit that I have never had such a disappointing experience here nor with any salon in the countries I lived in before (I am exclusively using this salon since I moved to DC nearly a year ago). I also picked up some words of a conversation of Mark and a second person when paying at the check out desk and it simply seemed that he met with friends afterwards. I totally understand this, but then please do not accept appointments for a day or timing when you plan to do something else. Similarly, at the beginning, my hair was washed real quick (during my previous visits, this was something very relaxing you could look forward to since you normally get a short head massage). The feeling of being not super welcome is admittedly not a nice one. Maybe this is also related to past visits when I gave normally 7-9 $ tip (so 15-18% on top of what I am charged) for a max. 30 min. haircut, but I think that is a fair amount. I talked about this for me simply unpleasant situation with the lady behind the desk when checking out and she was very understanding and assured me to have a look into this. I must admit that I really have to think about whether I am coming back. It is a shame, because my past experiences here have predominantly been great (so were those of my fiancee) and the hair cuts were very good.
