I went in for my dogs 1st check up after I adopted him- (because I adopted him, they waived the first vet payment), which I thought was very kind. The visit was mainly to make sure he was healthy and nothing seriously wrong with him. He did have a small cough that I was a little worried about because it kept sounding like he was choking. They told me that it was kennel cough and to just let him "ride it out".
Even though I of course thought this was strange, I didn't ask for medicine because I took the vets word for it.
(And I have two other dogs at home that the vet knew about and wasn't concerned that they would catch it, even though it's super contagious)
Long story short- my poor baby's cough got a lot worse... and I ended up taking him back, only 5 days later.
When I talked to the vet tech, she was even shocked that they didn't give him any medicine the first visit.
So after paying almost $150.00, I got the medicine, but unfortunately one of my dogs at home ended up getting a cough as well.
She also goes to Love and so we called to see if they would prescribe her the same medicine because my dog was just there so recently.
They did not help us at all.
I voiced my frustration to them and even talked to the manager and I did not receive any compensation.
I honestly feel that they didn't want to prescribe anything the first time just so that I would come back and spend money.
Needless to say, I will not return there and my other two dogs will not as well.
I always receive good care for my pets at Love. The staff all show concern for any ailment my pet may have and they greet you and your pet when you come in the door. I believe that he oohing and aawing make the pets feel more welcome and comfortable. The vets are all top shelf and provide great care and explain what they are doing. My favorites are Dr. Wisbrock and Davenport.
